Between the towns of Ramona and Julian is Santa Ysabel, eight miles Northwest of Julian, CA on State Route 79. The town was established in 1818 near the Mission Santa Ysabel. The original Mission building is lost, but the current Mission, constructed in 1924, still serves the community. For families out for a country drive, Santa Ysabel is a great little country town excursion with a lot to offer. Dudley's Bakery is the highlight of the town offering bread that is coveted throughout San Diego County.
