The City of Vista is located in the rolling coastal foothills of North County, seven miles east of the Pacific Ocean and 35 miles north of San Diego. It is at the heart of the burgeoning growth cycle enjoyed by all of northern San Diego County. Incorporated in 1963, Vista's largest population increases occurred during the 1980's. It is still the county's second-fastest growing community.
